GV Artwork + Design CleveLand That I Love Giveaway

If there is one thing that I love about my city, it is our pride. What other city has several thriving companies that promote it on t-shirts and other swag? Let me answer that for you...none. Ok, maybe NYC, but come on kids, that is it.

As much as I love and adore the city of Cleveland, I love t-shirts, so I say to you that it was a match made in pierogi filled heaven when GV Artwork + Design asked me if I would be interested in giving away one of their CleveLand That I Love ts.

If you aren't familiar with them, you can check out the website here, one of the best guys Cleveland has to offer. He has created a great line of Cleveland-centric ts, that can help the world see your love for Cleveland.

I have several of his ts already

 And...let's not forget...
The best part about the Lyin King t is that I actually came out to his house to pick it up (ok, the best part is he let me). At the last minute I had NBA playoff tickets for the Indiana Pacers game against the Heat and I needed to be ready. I can not tell you the joy I had when LeFoolio poser fans came up to me, saw LeFoolio's face and then realized what my shirt said. Most would quietly ask if I was from Indianapolis. The look in their eyes when I announced proudly that I was from Cleveland and I was in town just for the game was something I will treasure for all of my sports loving days. I also appreciated the space that they gave me when they slowly backed away and proceeded to stare at the floor.

So kids, here is the fun part. Do you love Cleveland?

  6. And what I love most about Cleveland - there is so much to see and do! I think a lot of people take it for granted, but we have such amazing diversity. Sports, history, art, shopping, restaurants, Lake Erie, etc! It's just a great place to live :-)

  11. One of the things I love most about Cleveland is that there's never a shortage of things to do - from great theater at PlayhouseSquare, University Circle, the Art Museum, the Cleveland Indians, concerts at the Grog shop in Coventry, fabulous restaurants everywhere you turn, Ohio City, Legacy Village, West Side Market...the list is endless!

If chosen, the GVArtwork tee that I would rock so hard (although I, too, love my city and already own several of these kick-a** shirts) would be the following:

I'm kinda going to rip-off a certain late night talk show host and would you look at that.. Here in my pocket is a Top 10 list.

    Ladies and gentlemen,
From the home offices in Wahoo, OK...I have The Top 10 Reasons Why I Love Cleveland. Let's get started.

#10. No other city has a giant FREE stamper thing. It's effin' cool.
#9. Alan Freed coined the phrase "rock n' roll". Years later, a museum unique in structure houses all kinds of crazy artifacts about the previously aforementioned, "rock n' roll". (Conversely, does anyone know who coined the phrase "hip-hop"..? Is there a museum unique in structure in the city of the homeboy that coined THAT phrase? Doubt it. See also: "honky-tonk" or "new wave".)
#8. Home of the first traffic light. Enough said.
#7. Slyman's Deli. Corned beefer sandos that are as large as a third grader's head. Uh-mazing.
#6. Knowing that every Thursday I can still get a Scene magazine highlighting some of the best local writers and storytellers and the many theaters/restaurants/bars/clubs/taverns/watering holes and things to do for the upcoming week...and it keeps me in the know..for free. F-R-E-E.
#5. Lake Erie. Not too many cities can boast a coast.
#4. Shinto in Strongsville. Best sushi in the city. 1/2 off on Tuesdays. Tell Kyle I sent you.
#3. Lots of talented people are here. Too many to mention, but here's a sampling: Tony Rizzo, Rocco Whalen, Mike Polk, Velvet Shake, Kris Pickel, Alan Cox, DJ E-V, Leeann Sommers, Michael Symon, et al..
#2. The Municipal Parking Lot on specified Sunday professional tackle football home games. We may lose the action that takes place within the confines of FirstEnergy Stadium (powered by Cleveland Public Power- still not sure how THAT works out), but we as Clevelanders will never lose at partying and all of the shenanigans that piggybacks it.

And.. The #1 reason Why I Love Cleveland..?

#1. We're not Detroit. Suck it, Detroit.
